Tuxford Green

  Before
Tuxford Green Before Because it's long been a flooding hotspot, the San Fernando/Tuxford Intersection has practical as well as symbolic importance. A project there, informally named "Tuxford Green" by community leader Jerry Piro, could become a focal point for the overall Sun Valley Watershed Project. Strategies would include catch basins both upstream and at the intersection to collect runoff and keep it from flooding the intersection. Underground storage tanks may be used to retain water for irrigating the site. Landscaping at the intersection would beautify the area and make good use of the available water.

After
Tuxford Green After The project would be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 would install catch basins, underground storage tanks and landscaping at the intersection. Phase 2 would install and connect catch basins upstream of the intersection. Flooding during normal rainfall events would be eliminated at the intersection as a result of this proposed project.

The before and after images show the potential for transformation at this intersection.
